We are a small animal practice in East Sussex. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care. For your added convenience, there’s free parking for clients at our surgeries.
Jade originally qualified as a registered veterinary nurse and before her time at Southdown gained plenty of experience in nursing. She worked in a variety of practices as head nurse and specialised in anaesthesia nursing at Fitzpatrick referrals, bringing with her knowledge and expertise from the referral sector. Jade plays a vital role in the veterinary industry working alongside the British Veterinary Nursing Association and the British Small Animal Veterinary Association to educate other vets and nurses and to provide careers knowledge to those looking to join the veterinary sector.
Jade joined Southdown in 2017 as practice director. She is at the forefront of our practice guiding us to deliver the highest standards of client and patient care, and looks forward to welcoming our clients to the practice. You will often see her undertaking normal nursing duties around her management work. Outside of work Jade spends most of her time riding and competing in dressage on her horse, as well as being a keen baker and photographer.
My name is Millie, I live in Southwick with my two Chihuahua cross breeds Teddy and Cocoa, I’m a part time receptionist which I’m hoping will one day turn into full time, I have a passion for caring for animals, I like dog walking, reading, yoga and spin classes in my spare time, I studied at Plumpton College for two years and gained a merit in a level two animal management course, I’m hoping one day to be able to pursue that further and eventually become a patient care assistant here at Southdown.
Emma has only lived in Sussex since April 2019 after living in Kent her whole life, she has felt very welcome being a new resident in Brighton and is enjoying working alongside such a lovely and supportive team at Southdown.
Emma loves most species of animals, having owned many reptiles, amphibians and rodents in the past. Cats and Dogs have played a big part in her family life too and she is looking forward to her and her boyfriend eventually getting a Cat to add a furry friend to the new household.
In her free time Emma enjoys indulging her creative side with a spot of Photography, Drawing, Amateur Theatre and losing herself in Video games.
